IndustryMasters Partners With Warwick Business School to Earn Gold Award For Online Distance Learning Programme

Learning Technologies’ 2020 Gold Award for Best Online Distance Learning Programme was awarded to Warwick Business School (WBS) in the UK and IndustryMasters for the school’s Business in Practice Program – a two-week experience in which teams of students assume positions of an executive board within a complex business simulation. The annual award recognizes the year’s most innovative learning programs.

The Business in Practice (BiP) Program is a WBS offering that allows business Masters students an opportunity to practice what they’ve learned in a realistic environment. By supporting students’ professional readiness through an immersive, online business simulation, custom-developed by IndustryMasters, the program offers an opportunity to test ideas and actively practice new knowledge. “Intensive, yet rewarding,” was how one student described the event.

Prior to 2020, the program had been a blended learning module with students from around the world attending traditional, in-person classes. COVID-19 forced a transition to an entirely online experience with the same global student base of 450 participants now learning from their home countries. BiP focuses on increasing and practicing business acumen skills and became a fully digital solution aimed at also preparing students for remote working, collaborating in teams across multiple locations and time zones, and incorporating the latest in technology and tools, as a result of the global pandemic.
