Kemi Akinsanya-Rose Joins Cambium Learning Group as Chief Operating Officer

Cambium Learning Group, a leading provider of award-winning education technology and services for PreK-12 markets, announced it has appointed Kemi Akinsanya-Rose as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Akinsanya-Rose will focus on strategic growth and operating initiatives, leading operational enablement Success Services teams and business development activities.

As COO, she will serve, assist, and guide the Cambium teams as they operationalize the next phase of the organization’s growth strategy. In partnership with the entire Cambium executive leadership team, she will also foster and support Cambium’s Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives to ensure the organization is living its purpose and expanding its impact in these important areas.

Akinsanya-Rose brings 20 years of consulting, operations, strategy, marketing and education technology experience to Cambium. Previously, she served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Diversity Officer of EL Education (formerly Expeditionary Learning), a leading K-12 education non-profit that provides school transformation strategy, instructional materials and coaching services. In this role, Akinsanya-Rose oversaw EL Education’s organizational and talent strategy, diversity efforts, program development, and financial operations, specifically helping EL broaden the reach of its school and district program offerings. She also helped expand its nationwide impact on student achievement and teacher professional development. Prior to EL Education, she served as the Chief Information Officer and General Manager at the nation’s largest school district, New York City Department of Education, where she was responsible for setting strategic direction for all district-wide technology and data initiatives.
