Established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SOC 2 defines the criteria for managing customer data based on trust service principles. Type II certification is only achieved after policies and procedures have been evaluated for at least six months and has become a key requirement for large organizations evaluating SaaS providers.
