Workday, Inc. , a leading provider of solutions to help organizations manage their people and money, today announced the election of Michael Speiser as an independent director of its Board of Directors. With more than three decades’ experience as a technology leader and venture capitalist, Speiser has a proven track record of building some of the fastest growing companies in the world, developing industry-leading products, and incubating some of the most pivotal AI technologies in the tech industry. His appointment to the Workday Board represents Workday’s commitment to AI innovation and continued global expansion – and the opportunity Speiser sees for the company to deliver on both.
Speiser is a managing director at Sutter Hill Ventures, and serves on the boards of several private companies and unannounced projects. From 2012 to 2014, Speiser served as the part-time CEO of Snowflake, Inc., and he’s served as a director since the company’s inception in 2012. He also served as founding CEO at Augment, Observe, Pure Storage, Inc., and others; and held executive leadership positions at Bix, Inc., Veritas Software, and Yahoo!.
